Manchester City could now face penalties such as points deductions and fines if found guilty. Football experts in England believe that if Manchester City cannot prove their innocence, they could be docked between 70 and 80 points.
The investigation began after Der Spiegel magazine published Football Leaks documents in 2018, which alleged that Manchester City had funneled money from the club's owners through sponsors in the United Arab Emirates. Manchester City have refused to comment and denied all allegations, and are believed to have hired a team of high-profile lawyers to assist with the appeal process.
Despite facing allegations of financial misconduct, coach Pep Guardiola remains confident and determined to win the domestic league and the next Champions League.
