| The BMP-1 armored vehicle is equipped with powerful firepower including a 73mm cannon and anti-tank missiles, along with high mobility on land and water at high speeds. |
| The BMP-1 is a first-generation infantry fighting vehicle developed and manufactured by the Soviet Union from the 1960s, officially entering service in 1966. It is equipped with a water-cooled, multi-fuel UTD-20 diesel engine with 300 horsepower, reaching a speed of 65 km/h on runways and a speed of 7-8 km/h on water using its tracks. |
| The BMP-1 is considered the most successful infantry fighting vehicle of the Soviet Union, with over 20,000 units produced and supplied to dozens of countries worldwide, including Vietnam. The BMP-1 combat vehicle weighs 13.2 tons, is 6.73m long, 2.94m wide, and 2.06m high. It has a crew of three (commander, driver, and gunner) and can carry eight infantry soldiers, fully equipped (it can fight from inside the vehicle using firing ports). |
| The BMP-1 has considerable firepower with its 73mm 2A28 smoothbore cannon (40 rounds of ammunition) and 9S428 launcher for 9M14 Malyutka guided anti-tank missiles (5 rounds of ammunition), along with a coaxial 7.62mm PKT machine gun (2,000 rounds of ammunition). |
| The 102nd Regiment, also known as the Capital Regiment, was established after the nationwide resistance war. On January 6, 1947, the Regiment of Military Region I officially announced its establishment. The National Military Conference was held on that day.12/1/1947Resolution awarded the title of Capital Regiment to the Inter-Regional Regiment I. |
| The 102nd Regiment, along with other forces, held off the French army for 60 days and nights in the heart of Hanoi, eliminating more than 2,000 enemy soldiers. Combat with armored vehicles was a demanding task, requiring precise and coordinated action. |
| In offensive combat, creating a strategic advantage with tanks and armored vehicles in combination with infantry is extremely important. With powerful firepower and a large breakthrough force, infantry and armored vehicles have a solid foundation to sweep through and destroy key enemy targets, creating opportunities for rear-echelon forces to approach, take control, and spread out to destroy the remaining targets. |
| The combination of infantry and tanks/armored vehicles in mobile offensive combat is often effective in fighting in flat terrain and cities. |
