Manchester United secured a resounding 4-1 victory over Swansea on the opening day of the Premier League, while Arsenal suffered a major disappointment with a humiliating 1-3 defeat to Aston Villa.

In the first 45 minutes, Manchester United played better than Swansea and held a significant advantage with two goals in less than two minutes, scored by Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck.

For the first goal, Ryan Giggs delivered a lofted pass to van Persie, who controlled the ball with his chest before unleashing a spectacular overhead volley that found the back of the net against Swansea.

Danny Welbeck's second goal came fairly easily from less than 5 meters away, after a pass from Valencia.

Robin van Persie's stunning volley resulted in a goal.

In the second half, Robin van Persie continued to demonstrate his "killer" instinct by scoring the third goal to make it 3-0. For this goal, the Dutch striker executed a skillful dribble past two white-shirted players before unleashing a shot from just outside the penalty area that found the back of the net against Swansea.

In van Persie's goal, Wayne Rooney, although not directly involved, made a run that drew the opposing defenders away, giving the Dutch striker more space to control the ball.

Just 10 minutes after van Persie's second goal, Bony Wilfried scored to reduce the deficit to 1-3 for Swansea. However, that was all Swansea could do in their opening match.

In the second minute of added time, Danny Welbeck followed in van Perise's footsteps to score a brace. Rooney provided the through pass for Welbeck, who cleverly slotted the ball home to seal a 4-1 victory for the Red Devils.

With this victory, David Moyes' Manchester United has had an absolutely fantastic start to the season. This win will certainly help the Scottish manager relieve some of the pressure after facing considerable doubt about his abilities.

In their previous match, Arsenal had a major disappointment on the opening day of the Premier League, suffering a humiliating 1-3 defeat to Aston Villa at their home ground, Emirates Stadium.

Olivier Giroud quickly brought joy to tens of thousands of fans at the Emirates Stadium with the opening goal in the 6th minute of the match.

Wenger will certainly need to strengthen his squad urgently.

However, Arsenal were unable to score any more goals in the remainder of the match, while Aston Villa staged a strong comeback, scoring three goals to successfully overturn the deficit.

Christian Benteke scored a brace to give Villa a 2-1 lead after 62 minutes, beforeAntonio Luna sealed a 3-1 victory for the visitors in the 85th minute.

In this match,Laurent Koscielny was sent off in the 67th minute.

Perhaps, after witnessing the early season setbacks, manager Arsene Wenger will immediately focus on the transfer market to bring in a quality signing, especially in the attacking line.

Also in the first round, West Ham, Fulham, and Southampton secured their first three points. West Ham beat Cardiff 2-0, Fulham defeated Sunderland 1-0, and Southampton achieved the same result against West Brom.

Meanwhile, despite being considered the stronger team, Everton only managed a 2-2 draw against Norwich.

Earlier, Sturridge's superb strike could be seen as confirmation that Liverpool can still play well without Luis Suarez, who was still absent from this match due to serving a suspension from last season.

However, Liverpool also need to thank goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who had a dream debut, saving Jon Walters' penalty in the final minute to secure all three points.

In the Bundesliga, Pep Guardiola's Bayern secured their second consecutive victory of the season, defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 thanks to a single goal from Mario Mandzukic.

With this victory, Bayern Munich, along with Bayer Leverkusen, Mainz 05, and Werder Bremen, temporarily share the top spot in the table, each with 6 points.

Leverkusen beat VfB Stuttgart 1-0, while Mainz 05 defeated Freiburg 2-1. Werder Bremen continued their winning streak with a narrow 1-0 victory over Augsburg.

In this round, Schalke 04 greatly disappointed their fans by suffering a heavy 0-4 defeat against Wolfsburg. Meanwhile,Hoffenheim secured a resounding 5-1 victory away at Hamburger SV.

In tonight's matches, the Bundesliga has one more game to play between Borussia Monchengladbach and Hannover 96.
