Pù Loi bamboo shoots are a type of bamboo shoot belonging to the same family as regular bamboo shoots, characterized by growing only in high-altitude, cold climates. The Pù Loi mountain peak is located in Tiên Kỳ commune, Đồng Văn district, and Tân Hợp district.Tan Ky districtNature has bestowed upon Nghe An province a rare type of bamboo shoot. From July to October each year, the bamboo shoots emerge from the ground, and locals go into the forest to harvest them.
Previously, people harvested bamboo shoots for self-sufficiency as a daily vegetable, in dishes such as boiled bamboo shoots, stewed bamboo shoots, stir-fried bamboo shoots, and spicy pickled bamboo shoots... but in recent years, the product...bamboo shootsBecause it is popular in the market, it has become more valuable. In particular, this year, bamboo shoots have been processed into two attractive specialty products to supply to the market.
At the Tan Ky District Agricultural Service Center, there are two processed products: pickled bamboo shoots with garlic and chili, and pasteurized fresh bamboo shoots. Both products are processed and packaged attractively, and customers will be satisfied with this irresistible delicacy.
Reportedly, this unit has recently received processing technology from Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry to process bamboo shoots. After processing, these two products can be preserved and used for 6 months, so customers can enjoy them during the Lunar New Year.
Mr. Phan Van Giap, Chairman of the Tan Ky District People's Committee, said that bamboo shoots are a naturally growing product found only on the high peaks of Pu Loi mountain. Therefore, the district's policy is to expand the cultivation area to increase production and process them into products with a distinctive flavor.specialtyof the local area.Currently, the area of naturally growing bamboo on Pù Loi mountain is about 3 hectares, with an annual yield of about 20 tons; the district plans to expand this to 5 hectares around the Pù Loi mountain area in the near future.
