Impersonating Viettel employees to scam

On August 12, a source from the Investigation Police Agency of Thoi Binh District Police, Ca Mau Province, said that they were detaining two subjects to investigate the act of fraud and property appropriation.

Accordingly, the subjects are Do Thi Loan (28 years old, residing in Ta An Khuong Dong commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province) and Nguyen Thanh Thuan (29 years old, from Dong Nai).

According to initial information, on August 11, we received a complaint from residents of Hamlet 9, Thoi Binh Town (Ca Mau) about two individuals claiming to be Viettel employees coming to rent land to deploy a Wifi broadcasting signal system with a contract price of 240 million VND.

However, if you pay Viettel Company in advance 11.9 million VND, you will receive many attractive gifts from Viettel.

Realizing the unusual incident, the people were alerted and reported to the police. Immediately after that, Thoi Binh Town Police invited the two subjects to the headquarters to investigate and clarify. Through the exploitation, the two subjects admitted their fraudulent behavior.

Currently, Thoi Binh District Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the incident, and at the same time notify the authorities who are victims of the above two subjects.
