According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, dried ripe mulberries are effective in nourishing yin and blood, generating body fluids, and moisturizing dryness. They are used in cases of diabetes, difficulty urinating, constipation, joint pain, and insomnia.
Mulberries, also known as mulberries, turn dark red or purplish-black when ripe. They are rich in nutrients, soft, sweet and sour, and juicy. They can be eaten fresh, steeped in alcohol, used to make beverages, jams, or even as a medicinal ingredient – all beneficial and popular uses.
Mulberry trees, which provide leaves for silkworms, flower and bear fruit in February and March. In autumn, the fruit is less abundant and smaller. Perennial garden mulberry varieties produce more, larger, sweeter, and higher-quality fruit. For fruit production, choose varieties with fewer, smaller, and thinner leaves. The riper the mulberry (darker purple), the sweeter and more fragrant it becomes, with less sourness and bitterness, and more nutrients. Mulberries contain 84.71% water, 9.19% sugar, 80% acid (including malic acid and succinic acid), 0.36% protein, tannins, vitamin C, and carotenoids.

Some commonly used remedies
Recipe 1: For dry, brittle, falling, and prematurely graying hair: Take 1 kg of mulberries and 0.5 liters of wine. Wash the mulberries thoroughly, let them dry, then put them in a jar and pour in the wine. Let them soak for 3 days. Drink 20 ml twice a day with meals.
Recipe 2: Treating muscle and joint pain, back and knee pain, constipation, and poor appetite: 40g ripe mulberries, 100g rice, and a sufficient amount of rock sugar. Wash the rice and simmer it with the mulberries until it becomes porridge. Eating this in the morning (on an empty stomach) is very good for the elderly, weak, and those recovering from illness.
Lesson 3: To help you sleep well: Wash 60g of fresh mulberries, put them in a pot, add 500ml of water, and boil. Drink twice a day in the evening. If you have chronic insomnia, use the following remedy: 15g of mulberries, 15g of rehmannia root, and 15g of white peony root. Put all the herbs in a pot, add 700ml of water, boil until only 200ml remains, and divide into two doses to drink during the day. One course of treatment lasts 15 days.
Lesson 4: Treating postpartum conditions: Dried mulberry fruit, longan, and Codonopsis pilosula, 30g of each, then crushed. Take 3g each time with cooled boiled water, 3 times a day.
Lesson 5: Treating premenopausal symptoms such as palpitations and rapid heartbeat: 30g of mulberries, 20g of tremella fungus, 3g of dried plums. Boil with 700ml of water until only 150ml of liquid remains. Divide into two doses and drink daily for 15 days per course.
Lesson 6: Indigestion, bloating, and gurgling sounds in the stomach: 10g of mulberry fruit, 6g of atractylodes rhizome. Put all ingredients into a pot, add 550ml of water, and divide into 3 doses to drink throughout the day. Use for 5 consecutive days.
Lesson 7: Promoting blood circulation, nourishing blood, and regulating menstruation: 15g mulberry fruit, 3g safflower, 12g Spatholobus parviflorus, 1 teaspoon (15ml) white wine. Put all ingredients into a pot, add enough to cover the herbs, simmer over low heat until only 250ml remains, then discard the dregs. Divide into two doses and drink daily. Use 15 days before menstruation, 7 days per course.
Lesson 8: Treating night sweats in young children: Take 10g each of mulberry fruit and schisandra berries, simmer in 500ml of water until only 200ml remains, and drink twice a day for 10 consecutive days.
Lesson 9: Supporting the treatment of diabetes: 30g of mulberry fruit, 20g of Trichosanthes kirilowii root, 15g of Rehmannia glutinosa root. Put all ingredients into a pot, add 500ml of water, and simmer until only 150ml remains. Divide into two doses and drink daily. Use for 7 consecutive days.
Note: Choose ripe, dark purple fruits that are not bruised or damaged. Those with a cold constitution or suffering from stomach upset or diarrhea should not consume them.
