Family conflict, husband murdered wife then committed suicide
On the morning of March 6, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with Da Lat City Police and other relevant agencies to conduct a crime scene investigation and autopsy of a particularly serious murder case that occurred in the early morning of the same day, resulting in the death of a husband and wife.
According to initial information, in the early morning of March 6, between Mr. Huynh Kim Chau (49 years old) and his wife, Ms. Phan Thi Bay (39 years old), residing on Bui Thi Xuan Street, Ward 2, Da Lat City, a conflict arose leading to an argument and a fight. Mr. Chau used a knife about 35cm long to stab Ms. Bay, causing her to collapse and become unconscious on the spot.

Immediately after, the victim's wife was taken to Lam Dong General Hospital for emergency treatment but died. When he learned that his wife had died, Mr. Chau returned home and used a knife to stab himself in the chest in an attempt to commit suicide.
According to the victim’s neighbors, for many months now, Mr. Chau and his wife have been arguing and arguing loudly. However, recently, the couple has been living very quietly. Mr. Chau and his wife live with their mother-in-law and two young children who are in 5th and 3rd grade. At the time of the murder, the victim’s children were heartbroken to witness the horrific scene.
It is known that for the past few months, Mr. Chau has been suffering from depression. Ms. Bay encouraged Mr. Chau to go see a doctor and get treatment, but Mr. Chau refused.
