Family conflict, husband murdered wife then committed suicide
On the morning of March 6, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with Da Lat City Police and other relevant agencies to conduct a crime scene investigation and autopsy of a particularly serious murder case that occurred in the early morning of the same day, resulting in the deaths of a husband and wife.
According to initial information, in the early morning of March 6, a conflict arose between Mr. Huynh Kim Chau (49 years old) and his wife, Ms. Phan Thi Bay (39 years old), residing on Bui Thi Xuan Street, Ward 2, Da Lat City, leading to an argument and a fight. Mr. Chau used a knife about 35cm long to stab Ms. Bay, causing her to collapse and become unconscious on the spot.

Immediately after, the victim's wife was transferred to Lam Dong General Hospital for emergency treatment but died. When he learned that his wife had died, Mr. Chau returned home and stabbed himself in the chest in an attempt to commit suicide.
According to the victim’s neighbors, for many months, Mr. Chau and his wife had often had conflicts and loud arguments. However, recently, the couple has been living very quietly. Mr. Chau and his wife live with their mother-in-law and two young children who are in 5th and 3rd grade. At the time of the murder, the victim’s children were heartbroken to witness the horrific scene.
It is known that Chau has been depressed for the past few months. Ms. Bay encouraged Chau to go see a doctor and get treatment, but Chau refused.
