Iraqi planes bombed heavily, more than 300 IS soldiers died
On September 17, according to a source from the Iraqi military, Iraqi government warplanes conducted dozens of airstrikes on Islamic State (IS) militants in the west of the country, destroying many military facilities and killing 306 militants.

The warplanes carried out 42 airstrikes based on intelligence information between September 11 and 16, hitting the IS capital and their safe havens in Akashat, Aana, al-Qaim in Anbar province.
Fighter jets bombed 29 IS bases in the Akashat area, killing 120 militants, including four IS leaders; struck six targets in the Mayadeen area, killing dozens of IS militants and destroying three military vehicles.
Previously, Iraqi security forces had driven IS militants out of major cities in Anbar province, including Ramadi and Fallujah, but areas near the border with Syria such as Aana, Rawa and al-Qaim were still under the control of extremist IS militants./.
