IS drone shot down by US electronic weapons
The US Air Force Secretary announced on October 24 that an electronic weapon of this force had shot down a small drone controlled by the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).

At a meeting at the Center for a New American Security in Washington, Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said the target was quickly shot down, but did not name the military system used to destroy it. The weaponized aircraft was linked to the deaths of four Syrian civilians.
According to Sputnik, Ms. Deborah Lee James assessed that the “cheap, online, small” drones appearing in the Middle East region are a new danger. According to her, if they are equipped with explosives, the consequences will be unpredictable.
Faced with such an urgent situation, the female minister called on defense officials present at the meeting to quickly find a way to deal with this type of aircraft.
A few months ago, the US Department of Defense purchased 100 DroneDefenders, a “drone killer” manufactured by Battelle Technologies. This frequency jammer can be mounted on the frame of an autonomous weapon and reach a target from 400 meters away.
