IS used drones to drop grenades, completely destroying a Syrian army ammunition depot.

The media agency of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) organization on October 24 posted a video of the group's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) dropping grenades on a Syrian army ammunition depot in the Deir ez-Zor province, according to Almasdar News.

Video taken from a camera mounted on a UAV shows the grenade dropped by IS exploded, triggering a chain reaction at the ammunition depot set up by the Syrian army in the football field in the town of Panorama, causing it to burst into flames.

It is not yet clear how much damage the Syrian army suffered from this attack. Using drones to drop grenades is a common attack tactic of IS on the Syrian battlefield, causing damage to the government army's small units.

IS is facing a series of attacks from the Syrian army as well as US-backed forces. The rebel group now controls only a small area inDeir ez-Zoreastern Syria, bordering Iraq.
