Russian plane missing while fighting fire
(Baonghean.vn) - A Russian IL-76 aircraftJuly 1stlost contact while attempting to extinguish a fire near the Siberian city of Irkutsk at an altitude of 3,000 meters.

The country's emergency ministry is planning to dispatch 100 parachute rescuers to search for the missing plane and the 10 people on board.
“The crew members of the aircraft have long-term experience in firefighting operations, providing humanitarian aid and rescue,” a source told TASS news agency.
According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, eight planes took part in the rescue operation.
The Russian IL-76, nicknamed the “water bomb”, is considered the world’s largest firefighting aircraft. It is capable of dropping up to 42 tons of water at a time.
