Plane crashes in the Far East, 15 killed.

According to RIA Novosti news agency, on July 2, a Mil Mi-8 helicopter carrying at least 25 passengers and three crew members crashed while landing in the Republic of Yakutia (Sakha), in Russia's Far East.

The aircraft, belonging to Polyarnye Avialinii airline, was on a routine passenger flight when it lost contact with air traffic control. It landed 45km from its point of origin, at an airfield near the village of Deputatsky.

According to initial reports, 15 people have died.

Two search and rescue aircraft, along with medical and emergency personnel, have been dispatched to the scene of the accident.
