An-26 aircraft and four Su-25SMs landed on Thursday on the Khabarovsk — Komsomolsk-on-Amur highway as part of special exercises of the Technical Logistics Department, which were held in the Eastern District from August 20 to 25. The exercises involved 36,000 servicemen and 3,400 units of military equipment.
"The task of the transport aircraft is to carry out technical logistics, that is, to transport ammunition, food, as well as to evacuate wounded soldiers. In fact, landing on the highway is a very complex task and has never been performed before in the modern history of Russia. This shows the very high level of the pilots. All the pilots participating in the exercises have undergone rigorous practice gained through combat experience in Syria," Kuzmenkov told reporters.
