Mazda CX-3 can be sold for 950 million VND in Vietnam

Based on the newly revised tax schedule, business people predict that the price of Mazda CX-3 could be around 950 million VND. Previously, the car was launched in Vietnam but the price was not disclosed.

Mazda CX-3 has been on sale in Vietnam for a while now, but the owner has not announced the price. It was not until the Ministry of Finance issued a decision to supplement and amend the tax calculation price of some car and motorbike models in Vietnam that people could somewhat guess the selling price of this model in the unofficial imported car market.

Accordingly, on May 24, the Ministry of Finance issued a decision to supplement and amend the tax calculation prices of a number of car and motorbike models in Vietnam. Among the series of cars added to calculate the registration tax is the all-new Mazda CX-3.

The price to calculate the registration tax for this small SUV Mazda CX-3 is 950 million VND. This is the final tax that customers must pay along with some other costs such as license plate fee, registration fee or civil insurance.

Therefore, according to the auto business community, the price of 950 million VND includes import tax, special consumption tax and VAT of Mazda CX-3 in the unofficial imported car market.

Previously, a few CX-3s imported from Thailand were spotted with license plates and circulating on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mazda CX-3 appeared at Truong Hai's booth at Vietnam Motor Show 2016.

Speaking with Zing.vn, a representative of the official Mazda passenger car assembler and distributor in Vietnam said that the unit has no intention of distributing the Mazda CX-3 model, even though it brought this model to the Vietnam Auto Show in late 2016.

The reason given is that the selling price of Mazda CX-3, if imported and distributed by the official distributor, will be equivalent to the CX-5 line currently assembled in the country. This is not beneficial for the distributor.

Mazda CX-3 first appeared in 2014 at the Los Angeles exhibition. After being sold in the US, Japan and Thailand, this car line was also present in Vietnam at Truong Hai's booth at the Vietnam Motor Show 2016. Domestic users are waiting for the CX-3 to be officially distributed, however, currently the number of CX-3 sold in Vietnam through private distribution channels is quite small.

The CX-3 is developed from the Mazda2 hatchback platform, but has a design quite similar to the CX-5. The CX-3 has dimensions of length, width, and height of 4,275 x 1,765 x 1,550 mm respectively. The wheelbase is 2,570 mm long.

The "heart" of the car is a 2.0L 4-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission for a capacity of 146 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, maximum torque of 192 Nm at 2,800 rpm.
