Mazda CX-5 deeply discounted to 850 million in Vietnam
For the first time, the C-size crossover has reduced its price to the same level as the sedan version, demonstrating its ambition to dominate the market.
Truong Hai applied a discount of 30-40 million from May 29 for CX-5 in all versions, making the lowest version 2.0 down to 849 million, equivalent to the price of a C-size sedan. This is the first time the price of CX-5 has dropped to such a low level. Not only that, many dealers also promoted a further discount of 30-40 million for CX-5 cars with chassis numbers produced in 2016.

While the company offers incentives to promote the new version, dealers themselves offer even deeper discounts to clear out inventory from 2016. The 2017 version has some upgraded details but the design and technical specifications have no significant differences.
At the launch of the new Mazda3 in mid-May, Mr. Bui Kim Kha, Deputy General Director of Truong Hai, announced that in 2016 the company had reduced prices to the bottom, to the maximum possible level, and in 2017 there would be no more such endless promotions.
However, to maintain market share in anticipation of 2018, this company may still apply discounts but in short periods of time. With this method, the CX-5 creates a stronger attraction and the opportunity for customers to buy the car also increases with the theory "if you don't buy, you will miss the discount period".

With a price of 849-950 million, CX-5 is the cheapest car in the segment and also has the highest sales. Car prices in 2017 will not decrease much compared to 2016 because taxes and fees do not fluctuate much, the 30% reduction in import tax from ASEAN only applies to a few car models on the market.
The CX-5 sold in Vietnam is the latest version of the first generation. The second generation was launched in Japan and the US in early 2017, and sold in the US since the end of March. There is no information yet about when it will appear in Southeast Asia.
