- As a passionate editor, it seems like you are used to the time pressure at VTV, but what about the pressure on appearance? Many people were so obsessed with their appearance that they wanted to quit their jobs...

For an MC or editor, appearance is extremely important, so it is difficult for me to avoid pressure. Being chosen to appear on air, of course, has some advantages in appearance, but to always maintain my form, I have to try to stay in shape, choose the right makeup, hairstyle and outfit.

I also struggled with weight loss and it took me a long time to find a fashion style that made my mark.

- The press talks about you as "VTV editor with beauty like a beauty queen", has Hai Van ever felt pressured to invest in costumes to avoid being "inferior to her peers"?

I am a person who loves fashion so I do not hesitate to invest in clothes. Roughly calculated, it must be up to hundreds of millions. There are suits that I really like, from the material, design to the shape, they are all very beautiful and luxurious and I do not hesitate to spend from 20 to 25 million to own them. I really like accessories such as scarves, earrings, watches, shoes so it also costs a little more.

I don't think this is a waste, because the same outfit, I can use in many situations, and importantly, they are very durable.

I am also very happy because the audience loves me and compliments me for having good taste. Every time I post a photo of my outfit on air, many people ask to buy it or ask for the address to buy it. That is also a recognition from the audience.

- I heard that there are many unspoken rules regarding clothing when on air at VTV?

At VTV24, we have a set of rules for creating an image for the presenter. There are some basic things such as the color of the outfit must match the information. When there is a lot of good news, we wear bright colors like orange, pink, dark blue. When the news is not too positive, we choose dark tones like purple, limit black - gray to avoid a gloomy feeling. The fabric also needs attention, avoid lace or too thin fabric, do not have too big details on the shirt that cause distraction. Simple hairstyle, neutral makeup. In general, the MC on screen must be pretty but not gorgeous.

As an MC and editor, my work is closely linked to the community and society, so I am very open when sharing about my career and future plans with the audience. However, I want to keep my personal matters to myself, which is also a way to protect my family and close relationships.

- You used to aim for a teaching career to settle down and start a family. So when you get married, will Hai Van prepare for a period of slowing down to focus on your personal life?

I think we can only do one thing well at a time. Right now, because I am single, I am focusing all my energy on work. But when I have a family, I will slow down a bit to take care of my family and my partner.

Once I have taken care of my family, I will continue to return to work and do my best because television is a passion for me, not just a job. I also have the view of living independently in all circumstances. Independence here does not mean that I am indifferent, but so that my partner does not feel like a burden.
