The male MC admitted that he has changed a lot since entering married life. He arranges his time more carefully to pick up and drop off his wife, and limits gatherings with friends that require him to come home late.

Not showing face is protecting wife on social networks

In February 2020, MC Hanh Phuc posted on his personal page a picture of his hands with 2 rings on his 2 ring fingers, implying that he was about to get married, surprising many friends, colleagues and audiences. However, he kept his wife, as well as information and pictures of the wedding, completely secret. More than a year later, MC Hanh Phuc shared the couple's wedding photos for the first time and revealed about his special wedding during the pandemic.

Sharing about this, Hanh Phuc laughed as he talked about his wedding, which was postponed twice: “My wife and I planned to get married in March last year. Everything was ready, but there was a ban on large gatherings just 4 days before the party. That morning, I started sending out invitations at my office, and by the afternoon, there was a ban. The wedding had to be canceled, and I planned to reorganize it a few months later, when the second wave of the pandemic hit. Now that I'm about to have a baby, I think I'll get married when the baby is one year old.”

MC Hạnh Phúc khiến khán giả bất ngờ khi công bố mình đã kết hôn được hơn một năm
MC Hanh Phuc surprised the audience when she announced that she had been married for more than a year.

Having never made his love public, Hanh Phuc made the audience more curious by the way he announced his marriage. In the public wedding photos, it is difficult, if not impossible, to find a photo that clearly shows his wife's face. Hanh Phuc said he did that to protect his other half from social networks.

He said that as a public figure, one should understand the impact that media and social networks can have. Sometimes, a move on social networks can cause problems between couples, and small arguments can accumulate into big conflicts. If one of the two is not sure about each other or is not used to the media story, the conflicts can cause the relationship to break down.

“From the moment we met and fell in love, my wife and I agreed that our personal relationship would not be made public. My wife is a private person, she did not marry me for fame so she was afraid to appear in public. I understand that mentality. You know, my wife is always my only choice, but not the choice of others out there. The audience will gossip, maybe compliment her beauty, but maybe not so beautiful. I can accept mixed opinions but my wife is different. So, she chose not to appear in public and I respect that.”

Before or after marriage, the purpose of life remains unchanged.

Hanh Phuc affirms that he always devotes all his heart to what he does and will not change when he has a family and prepares to be a father. He said: “I clearly separate work and family, or even love affairs. That is, when I work, my family or wife will also come second, but on the contrary, when I return to my family, work must be put behind.

My point of view is that you can do many things in the same time but not at the same time, when you arrange the right priority for things in life, you will not be confused, not make things difficult for yourself. If we only worship love, family without going to work, it is not good. And if we only care about work, who will take care of the family?

However, the male MC admitted that he has changed a lot since entering married life. He arranges his time more carefully to pick up and drop off his wife, and limits gatherings with friends that require him to come home late. These changes are completely voluntary, because "if we don't do it voluntarily, we will easily become depressed". "When I was single, it was fine, but now that I come home late and know my wife is waiting at home, I come home late less often", he shared.

The time of marriage was also the time Hanh Phuc temporarily stopped running the vegetarian restaurant. When asked if stopping the business was also a change in his purpose in life, he said: “Before or after marriage, my purpose in life has not changed. I closed the restaurant mainly due to the pandemic, which is also the common situation of many restaurants and eateries.

For those who love and follow me, you probably know the time when I faced cancer and overcame it. During that time, I realized many values in life and decided to become a vegetarian, as well as run a non-profit vegetarian restaurant. I am lucky to have my wife accompanying me from vegetarianism to business. Stopping the business is something that neither my wife nor I want. However, my wife and I still believe that in a few years, when our children are older and things are more stable, we will return to this charitable work," Hanh Phuc expressed.

Sad if not doing television

As an editor and MC of VTV, Hanh Phuc modestly said that he only dares to consider himself a public figure, not a celebrity. For him, maintaining his public image is a daily task that will gradually become a habit. For him, maintaining a good image is not only for himself but also for the agency where he works.

Hanh Phuc only considers himself a public figure and does not dare to claim to be a celebrity.

“Just one bad image, one uncontrolled statement from us – even in everyday life – will affect the reputation and prestige of VTV.

It’s the same for MCs, singers, and actors – they are all public figures and have a certain influence on their fan community. I think everyone should set their own limits and know whether or not to go beyond them. How can I still be myself and be comfortable with every decision I make” – MC Hanh Phuc shared.

For Hanh Phuc, his biggest passion after his MC job is to train young people who want to become MCs.

He said: “I am lucky to have never had to give up any other passion to become an MC. With more than 15 years of experience working on all channels from the South to the North, now I have a little capital to share with young people. I enjoy changing you from a blank page to a professional MC.

I also participate in other areas such as sharing presentation skills, communicating with companies and corporations, and guiding some schools and companies to build internal newsletters. These activities partly help me to strengthen my current career, and partly confirm how meaningful my current job is. But honestly, if one day I can no longer do television, I will be very sad!”
