MC Ky Duyen responds when being investigated by the FBI
Recently, FBI agents have begun investigating Ky Duyen on charges of receiving money to advertise Covid-19 test kits.
Recently, MC Ky Duyen received backlash after posting an article about her family getting a rapid Covid-19 test using a test kit from a medical facility at a price of49 USD/person. Many people believe that the overseas MC received money from the doctor, the owner of this medical facility, to advertise an unlicensed product.
They reported the incident to the authorities. Immediately afterwards, FBI agents began investigating Ky Duyen for allegedly receiving money to advertise the test kit.
MC Ky Duyen thinks being investigated by the police is also lucky. |
On March 29, Ky Duyen shared about the incident and the lessons learned in a video. The MC said she took her two children for a blood test and a Corona virus test.
"I find this test very convenient, so I provide full information to everyone. Perhaps at that time, the test kit was so new that many people did not understand. They thought that the doctor was a scammer, and I received advertising money. In fact, I just wanted to introduce it to those who were worried like me so they could try it," Ky Duyen said.
Suspecting that an overseas MC was helping a medical facility advertise an unlicensed product, a person called the FBI. Although being investigated by the police for the first time, MC Ky Duyen said that this was a lucky thing. According to her, thanks to the FBI's involvement and conclusion, she was cleared of the charges.
"The FBI investigated me, investigated the doctor. The FBI continued to talk to the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). In the end, the FBI concluded that the doctor did nothing wrong. And I also did not receive advertising money from this medical facility. If the protesters did not call the FBI, I would not have had the opportunity to prove myself. If I just said I did not receive money, who would believe? It was God's grace that helped me to have an answer for you," the overseas MC emphasized.

Using rapid test kits causes MC Ky Duyen to be opposed. |
Through the incident, Ky Duyen said she did not feel angry, nor did she lose faith in people. She viewed the incident from a positive, optimistic perspective. Ky Duyen believed that those who reported her incident to the FBI were probably concerned and worried about the community.
She said: "There are still more good people than bad people in this world. With every problem, we have two choices, positive or negative thinking. I think when we are happy, joyful, and positive thinking will help us have better health."
The test kit that Ky Duyen used was produced by PCL Inc, a biotechnology company in Korea. The rapid test kit will record the IgG and IgM antibodies that are produced. Each test kit can only test for certain types of antibodies produced from certain antigens. The rapid test kits currently use this antibody detection mechanism to check whether the SARS-CoV-2 virus has entered the body.
According toOrange County RegisterThe FDA said it does not object to the development and distribution of blood tests for Covid-19 by commercial manufacturers, as long as the FDA is notified of the business. At the same time, patients must be informed that the test kits have not been authorized by the FDA.
The FDA says antibody test results should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosing or reporting Covid-19 infection. The rapid test kit that MC Ky Duyen posted on Facebook is for reference only.
