Mrs. Nghia wiped away the tears rolling down her cheeks and slowly said: My husband and I had 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls. The eldest brother, Bui Cong Mau, suffered from mental illness after being sick for a long time and could not be cured. The next two, Ms. Thuy and Mr. Van, were both normal at birth, but after only 1 year old, they suffered from muscle atrophy, could not walk, and had to stay in one place. The remaining daughter, Bui Thi Binh, got married and had 2 children but also died early. Only the two brothers, Bui Cong Dung and Bui Cong Long, had normal health but their family circumstances were also difficult.
In their youth, Mrs. Nghia and her husband, Mr. Bui Cong At, served as frontline laborers and then worked locally. Mr. At served for many years as Chairman of the People's Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of Tuong Son Commune, then was appointed Vice Chairman of the District Fatherland Front Committee until his retirement. Both of them were awarded resistance medals.
Mr. At passed away 3 years ago.For the past few years, she has been taking care of her two disabled children alone. Mrs. Nghia said: "When I am out of sight at work, I come home and see my two children lying on the bed and my heart withers. When Mr. At was still alive and coming back, I was encouraged and gradually got better. Now that he has passed away and the children are living separately, I have been struggling all these years."
Anyone who has visited Mrs. Nghia’s house can see her difficult situation and admire the woman who has worked hard all her life for her children. To help Mrs. Nghia’s family reduce their difficulties, they need kind-hearted people to share and help.
