Zahara Jolie-Pitt's biological mother wants to reconnect with her daughter

Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, a woman living in Ethiopia, wants to talk to her daughter.

According to Us Weekly, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso (31 years old) recently appeared in the press claiming to be Zahara's biological mother. Mentewab shared that she does not want to claim her child back but hopes to call and talk to her daughter.

"I just want her to know her mother is alive, here and longing to talk to her," Mentewab said.

Zahara is 12 years old and has lived with Brad Pitt and his wife for more than 10 years.

According to the story, Mentewab gave birth to a child at the age of 19 and named him Yemasrech. However, because the child was sick and she was too weak after giving birth, she decided to put the child in an orphanage.

Since Angelina Jolie adopted Zahara in 2005, Mentewab has not had any contact with her. Although he did not specify why he wanted to reconnect now, Mentewab said: "I want Zahara to know that she has a mother who loves her as much as Angelina. Before I die, I want her to know about me and that she has a family here in Ethiopia."

The woman said she never stopped thinking about her child. "Angelina has become a much better mother than I have. Zahara has been with her since she was a baby, but that doesn't mean I don't miss her. I think about her every day and long to hear her voice and see her face. I know her birthday but it's sad that I can't celebrate it," Mentewab shared.

Zahara was loved by her adoptive parents.

Angelina Jolie adopted Zahara when she was just 6 months old. A year later, Brad Pitt also applied to be Zahara's father. At the time of the adoption, the couple did not know that Zahara's mother was still alive. In a 2006 interview, Angelina Jolie told CNN: "She is from Ethiopia and is an orphan of parents with AIDS."

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have not commented on this information. They are preparing to go to court for divorce.
