Young mother from Nghe An strangled her son to death and then attempted suicide.
Vi Thi Dung (20 years old, from Nghe An) strangled and covered her child's nose to death and then attempted suicide but failed.

According to initial testimony, at around 3:00 p.m. on March 30, Dung took her child to her boyfriend's rented room in Thuong area, Khac Niem ward, Bac Ninh city.
Here, waiting for her son to fall asleep, Dung tried to use the phone charger to commit suicide, but the child woke up and cried. Afraid that people around would find out, Dung used her hands to strangle and cover the child's nose until he died. Dung continued to take 40 sleeping pills, cut the electric wire to get electrocuted, but failed.
After that, Dung drank cassava mixed with honey and sleeping pills, then hugged her child and fell asleep.
At around 7pm, Dung's boyfriend came home from work and found Dung and her child unconscious, so he took them to the emergency room, but the child had already died.

Bac Ninh Provincial Police have decided to temporarily detain Vi Thi Dung for murder.
It is known that Dung has been married once and has a 3-year-old son with her ex-husband.
The cause of the incident is said to be a conflict with her new boyfriend.
