It was her homesickness that made Ms. Vu Thanh Huyen (currently living in the Czech Republic) create a unique work - growing succulents in the shape of a map of Vietnam and a five-pointed star.

According to the Vietnamese bride in the Czech Republic, Vu Thanh Huyen, she lives too far away and rarely has the opportunity to return to her homeland, so homesickness is always present in her. It is the love of growing Vietnamese vegetables, tubers, and fruits and these small works that help her somewhat lessen her homesickness.

Talking about the advantages and disadvantages of growing succulents, she shared: "What I like most is that succulents can withstand cold weather when it snows. After the snow season comes spring, the succulents sprout red buds. They look very beautiful and produce many seedlings. The difficulty is also when the slope of the land makes planting and shaping a bit complicated.

In recent days, it has been raining quite heavily, causing flowers, vegetables, and fruits in the garden to not grow, but succulents are different. They can survive in any difficult place in the garden. In addition, succulents grow very quickly and simply, without requiring much care."

Whenever foreign friends come to visit her garden, Ms. Huyen is often proud to show them her unique work, and at the same time introduces foreign friends to the cultural beauty and special customs of Vietnam.

Talking about her passion for bonsai, she admits that she is "crazy" because at 2am, her husband still holds the lamp to light up the plants for her to take care of. And many times, she is so busy growing flowers that she forgets to eat.

To have a lush and well-arranged garden like today, Ms. Huyen had to put in a lot of effort. The soil in the garden was originally full of sand and gravel, Ms. Huyen had to work hard to pull out weeds, scoop up the gravel, and then buy more soil to add to the garden.

Besides the joys in life, blooming flowers or harvesting fruit is also a great joy for Ms. Huyen.
