Tips to improve the taste of wine
Enjoying a perfect glass of wine doesn't require spending a fortune on the most expensive bottle. Instead, the results of the world's largest wine tasting study reveal that simple changes in color and sound in the environment can improve the taste of wine by nearly 10%.

Researchers have found that listening to "sweet" or "harsh" music in a room illuminated in red or green can significantly alter the taste of a glass of wine.
According to the research team, red light and "sweet" music are the ideal combination, enhancing the delicious flavor of wine by up to 9%. Meanwhile, green light and "harsh" music increase the feeling of freshness but reduce the intensity of the wine by up to 14%.
"It's similar to when someone changes from being confused about the taste of something to actually liking it. With this experiment, that change happens in just a few seconds," said Charles Spence, professor of experimental psychology at the University of Oxford (UK).
This conclusion was reached after nearly 3,000 people participated in the world's largest-scale experiment at the Color Lab. Each volunteer enjoyed a glass of wine while being exposed to a range of different sounds and colors in the room.
The music choices for this study were based on the results of previous research, which found that certain melodies and instruments can make food taste sweeter or sourer. "Sweet" music is characterized by gentle, calm, and melodious tunes. "Harsh" music, on the other hand, is characterized by more energetic, less soothing, and more jarring melodies.
The red light itself highlights the grape flavors of the wine, while the green light reinforces its freshness.

The research team claims that their work has for the first time clearly demonstrated that the combination of color and sound has a much greater impact on human taste perceptions than light alone. The findings also suggest that bars and restaurants need to carefully consider the environment they create for customers, as it can affect their business.
For those enjoying wine at home, experts advise that the shimmering light from a red lamp in the room, along with soft music, will enhance the flavor of the beverage. If you prefer fruity wines and want to accentuate their taste, you can use a red tablecloth or red wine glasses. If you prefer wines with a fresher and more vibrant flavor, use green tablecloths or glasses.
