You can remove the lingering fishy smell from a wooden cutting board by dripping a little vinegar or squeezing half a lemon onto the surface where you cleaned the fish. Then, let it dry, scrub it clean, and the fishy smell will be completely gone.
Alternatively, you can soak the cutting board for 3-4 minutes in a mixture of rice water and salt, then wipe it thoroughly with a cloth. Afterwards, rinse it with hot water, and I guarantee the smell will be gone.
Remove the fishy smell from the kitchen.
Before cooking or frying fish, add a little vinegar to the pot; this will prevent the fishy smell from spreading throughout the kitchen.
Remove the fishy smell from pots and pans.
After using pots and pans to cook fish, even after washing them thoroughly, they often retain an unpleasant fishy odor. To remove this smell, take some dried tea leaves and water, put them in the pot (or pan), and boil them. This will ensure the fishy smell is gone.
Remove the fishy smell from knives.
When cutting meat or fish, knives often develop an unpleasant fishy smell. Simply rub a piece of ginger on both sides of the knife and rinse with clean water. If the knife smells of onions or garlic, just stick the blade into the soil, pull it out, and wash it thoroughly to remove the odor.
Refrigerator deodorizer
If your refrigerator smells fishy, first turn it off and defrost it. Then clean it thoroughly, wiping down the walls and shelves with vinegar. Finally, pour a cup of hot black coffee into the refrigerator to eliminate the smell completely.
If you don't have much time to wait for the ice to melt or your refrigerator doesn't have much frost, you can simply add some ground coffee to reduce odors in the refrigerator.
