There are many recipes for pickling onions, however, a tip for pickling onions that are crispy, white, and free from mold using fish sauce, vinegar, and sugar has recently been shared by many women. This is a delicious way to pickle onions that are crispy, have just the right balance of sweet and sour, and won't ferment or spoil.

Ingredients for pickling onions

- 1 kg of onions (fresh onions)

- 1 bowl of fish sauce

- 2/3 cup sugar

- 1 bowl of vinegar

- 1.5 cups of water

How to pickle onions to make them crispy, white, and free from mold.

- Step 1 (Preparing the ingredients): Trim the tops of the onions, remove the roots, and peel off the outer layers, keeping only the white inner part. Soak the onions in diluted salt water for about 1 day. Then, rinse them with clean water and drain them in a colander to prepare for pickling.

- Step 2: Prepare the fish sauce mixture for pickling onions as follows: Dissolve 1 bowl of fish sauce with 2/3 bowl of sugar, 1 bowl of vinegar, and 1.5 bowls of cooled boiled water, then mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then let it cool.

- Step 3: Prepare a jar for pickling (preferably a glass jar). Wash the jar thoroughly and rinse it with boiling water. Then, dry the jar completely (because if there is still water in the jar, it will easily cause mold to form on the pickled onions, making them less delicious). Arrange the onions in the jar, alternating with fresh chili peppers for a visually appealing presentation. Next, pour the cooled fish sauce and sugar mixture into the jar until the onions are completely submerged. Note that the fish sauce must completely cover the onions; otherwise, the onions on the surface will easily spoil and develop mold.

- Step 4: Seal the jar of pickled onions tightly with a lid and store it in a cool, dry place. After about a week, the onions will be cooked and you can take them out to enjoy.
