Messi renews contract with Barca

Spanish newspapers say Lionel Messi is about to end all rumors by signing a 3-year contract with a 1-year extension option with Barca and a release clause of up to 400 million euros.

It is expected that in the contract to be signed, Messi will have an after-tax income of up to 30 million euros/season. Last season, although Barca failed heavily, failed to defend the Liga championship and did not win the Champions League, Messi still played very well, scoring 54 goals in 52 matches in tournaments for the Catalan team.
