Mexico refuses to pay for border wall with US

According to Reuters, after US President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to build a wall on the border between the two countries, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said that the Mexican government would not pay for the construction, as well as intend to protect the freedom of remittances.

On January 11, Trump affirmed that after he took office on January 20, the country's government would begin implementing the plan to build a wall on the border with Mexico at Mexico's expense.

If Mexican authorities refuse, Mr. Trump threatens to ban Mexican migrants from transferring money from the United States to their home country.
