Michael Jackson's former bodyguard has revealed the King of Pop felt Diana was 'the only person in the world' who truly understood him.

The late Princess Diana, Prince Charles' first wife, first met Michael Jackson during his 1988 Wembley Stadium tour. At a pre-show event, Michael Jackson donated £300,000 (nearly $400,000) to the Prince of Wales's charity, The Prince's Trust. However, that was just the beginning of Michael and Diana's friendship.

Matt Fiddes, a former bodyguard who ran the pop star's security business for more than 10 years, said that Michael Jackson actually "fell in love" with Diana immediately.

Matt told the siteDaily Star: "Michael felt that Diana was the only person in the world who could understand his life because they were the same, they couldn't go anywhere freely or control the media. They were people who had no private lives. Michael realized there was a connection with Diana the first time they met."

Michael Jackson had phone calls with Diana all night long from Neverland to Kensington Palace. Matt also revealed more stories about how heartbroken Michael Jackson was when he heard the news of Diana's death.

"They both suffered terribly because of their own fame. He was deeply saddened when Diana died. Michael always talked about Diana and learned a lot from her passing," Matt added.

Michael Jackson died in 2009 and is now being re-examined by a series of sexual abuse allegations.
