The North will welcome the northeast monsoon from the night of the 6th day of Tet. The Central Highlands and the South will see temperatures gradually increase, with a high possibility of heat waves.

Under the influence of the weakening cold air mass, in the first days of the new year, the North maintained cloudy weather at night and in the morning, with light fog, and sunny weather at noon. The temperature in the North and the North Central region (from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue) was relatively pleasant, fluctuating between 14-28 degrees Celsius.

From today until the end of the 5th day of the first lunar month, the Northern and North Central regions will maintain cloudy weather. The coastal and mountainous areas in the North will have thick fog at midnight and in the morning, reducing visibility to less than 1km, making it difficult for vehicles to travel, especially between 4-8am every day.

By noon, when the humid southeast wind zone weakens, the low-lying area in the west develops again, the North turns sunny, the temperature increases to 24-27. In places like Muong La, Muong Lay, Muong Te or Yen Chau, the temperature can reach 30-32.

Around the evening of February 21 (ie the night of January 6 of the lunar calendar), the North will welcome a cold air mass, causing rain at night and in the morning, the temperature will drop, and mountainous areas may experience severe cold (average daytime temperature from 15 degrees Celsius or lower).

The provinces from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan will have clear skies and sunshine in the afternoon during the remaining two days of the holiday. The highest temperature in the North Central region is 28 degrees Celsius, and the provinces from Da Nang to Binh Thuan are 30 degrees Celsius.

The Central Highlands and the South will enter a new cycle of increasing temperatures from tomorrow (January 4, Lunar New Year). The temperature in the Central Highlands will increase to 30-32 degrees Celsius, and in the South it will be 32-34 degrees Celsius. It is likely that on February 20-21 (January 5-6, Lunar New Year), the Southeast will experience heat waves with high temperatures of 34-35 degrees Celsius.
