On the morning of April 24, the 9th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 2016-2021 term, held an extraordinary meeting to dismiss Mr. Le Van Khoa from the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee. This meeting has not yet elected a new person to replace Mr. Khoa. Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan attended the meeting.

Mr. Le Van Khoa was born in 1961, from Quang Nam. He used to be Chairman of District 5 People's Committee, then Director of the City Department of Industry and Trade.
At the 20th session of the 8th term People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, in mid-December 2015, Mr. Le Van Khoa was elected Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Mr. Le Van Khoa was assigned to be in charge of the fields of planning management, urban development; construction; land management, environmental resources; transportation, water supply and drainage, basic construction investment, housing management...
However, due to Mr. Khoa's health, in March 2018, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee reassigned the task to the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen was assigned to monitor and direct the areas that Mr. Le Van Khoa was in charge of according to the previous assignment./.
