Mountainous areas actively cope with storm No. 10

(Baonghean.vn) - Since October 14, mountainous localities in Nghe An have had many plans to deal with storm No. 10, in order to minimize damage caused by storms and rains.

From the afternoon to the evening of September 14, 40 officers and soldiers of Quy Chau District Military Command, Chau Tien Commune Military Command, and the Commune Youth Union helped farmers in Hoa Tien 1 and 2 villages of Chau Tien Commune (Quy Chau) harvest more than 40 hectares of rice to escape storm No. 10.

Mr. Son: Stop all unnecessary meetings to prevent storms.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 10, Anh Son district issued urgent dispatch No. 05/CD-UBND on responding to the storm and at the same time focused on all plans to deploy proactive prevention measures.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 14, leaders of Anh Son district and representatives of several departments directly inspected storm prevention and control work in localities in the district.

Accordingly, the delegation checked the water level at Khe Nay dam in Duc Son commune, inspected the facilities of Duc Son secondary school, the progress of summer-autumn corn harvest and winter corn sowing on the double-rice land of farmers in Duc Son and Vinh Son communes. The delegation also inspected the storm prevention situation at Tao-Linh ferry.

Along with the inspection work, since September 14, Anh Son district has also stopped unnecessary meetings. At the same time, it has directed 21 communes and towns to inspect, review, and be ready to deploy plans to respond to storms, flash floods, and landslides; and have plans to evacuate people.
