Western Nghe An after the flood: Houses are still there but precariously close to the river's edge, people do not dare to return

After the great flood in late July, in the western localities of Nghe An, many houses stood precariously on the banks of landslides. Although the houses were not completely washed away, the insecurity, especially the fear of upcoming extreme weather, made no one dare to return to live.

In Tuong Duong commune alone, according to statistics, in the recent historic flood, the whole commune had more than 2,000 houses flooded, of which 1,700 houses were flooded 2 meters deep.
