Expanding the program 'Rooms help rooms, schools help schools' to mountainous districts of Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - This is a program deployed to carry out the campaign "Supporting education in mountainous, remote and isolated areas" launched by the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

On the morning of October 28, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to review 1 year of implementing the program "Rooms helping rooms, schools helping schools" for the period 2019 - 2022.

After 1 year of implementation, there are currently 9 units registered to support the Departments of Education and Training and high schools in the districts of Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Quy Chau with many contents and tasks.

In particular, the focus is on providing assistance with teaching experience, professional development, and especially on innovating methods to gradually improve teaching quality. The "school helping school" units also share management experience, improve the capacity and role of the Principal.

In addition, with the internal strength of the units and socialized resources, the receiving units have mobilized nearly 800 million VND to support departments and schools in purchasing teaching equipment, supplies for teachers and students and awarding dozens of scholarships forpoor students, hard.

The regular assistance has demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of teachers and workers in the whole industry. At the same time, the program has created a strong change and transformation in the awareness of the management team, teachers, staff and students.

Thereby, contributing to improving the effectiveness and quality of comprehensive education; arousing and promoting spiritual and material resources in the whole sector, creating motivation and contributing to the success of the fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training.

To improve the effectiveness of the program, at the conference, delegates also shared the difficulties and problems in the implementation process. Many delegates requested that in the coming time, they would like to continue to receive professional support, because currently the gap in education quality between mountainous and plain areas is still very large.

Speaking at the conference, DirectorDepartment of Education and TrainingThai Van Thanh acknowledged the efforts of the units after 1 year of implementation. "The most obvious results were shown through the 2020 High School Graduation Exam (with many highland students achieving high scores) and through the Provincial Excellent Teacher Exam" - said the Department Director.

From the effectiveness of the program, in the coming time, the Department leaders will launch an additional "Subject groups helping subjects" and consider this a core factor to improve the quality of education. To do so, schools in favorable areas must be ready to send key teachers directly to units to guide teaching work and impart experiences.

In addition, the units receiving assistance need to continue to support the innovation of teaching and assessment methods towards developing learners' capacity, building programs to enhance life skills, Stem education, and applying information technology in teaching and management.

At the same time, continue to promote the mobilization of socialized educational resources to help with funding for investment in facilities, equipment, and support for teaching and living activities of students and teachers in mountainous areas.
