Every teacher must have the qualities of a teacher from Nghe An "self-respect comes first"

Besides appreciating the efforts and results that the Nghe An Education and Training sector achieved in 2018 with maintained education quality and positive changes, the Provincial Party Secretary also shared the difficulties of the sector when the number of schools in the province is large, the area is large and complicated.

Setting out tasks for the Education and Training sector in 2019, the Provincial Party Secretary said that it is necessary to continue to maintain and promote the achieved results; to do so, the sector must closely follow the grassroots, closely follow the schools to direct and guide, and strengthen regular inspection and supervision; both creating conditions for schools to complete their tasks and reminding and immediately correcting arising problems.

The Provincial Party Secretary also frankly raised many concerns and wishes for the Nghe An Education and Training sector to continue to think and be creative on the basis of the policies and orientations of the Party, Provincial Party Committee, and Provincial People's Committee to create breakthroughs in the coming time.

First of all, educational innovation, in addition to innovating programs, textbooks, teacher training, and teaching methods according to the general policy, the Department needs to research to boldly build quality school models similar to Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School in the region on the basis of schools with a tradition of quality over time; both creating opportunities for good students to meet good teachers, thereby discovering qualities, factors, and talents to nurture; and creating conditions for students with difficult economic circumstances who are good at studying to still study in a quality school, not necessarily having to return to Vinh to study.

“Building a quality school is not only about having financial resources, but also about creating a mechanism to attract good teachers, a mechanism for the school to operate well, a mechanism to build cultural standards... To do this, the Department's Board of Directors needs to have a project and assign specific responsibilities to individuals in charge, on that basis, consider and evaluate the dedication and determination of the staff, creating real competition" - the Provincial Party Secretary shared the way to do it.

Along with the above content, the Provincial Party Secretary also requested the Nghe An Education and Training sector to study and build a school inspection force based on gathering teachers and education managers with prestige, especially those who are dedicated, responsible and are very concerned with the education cause of the province, so that through them, they can monitor and inspect the educational discipline in schools, and at the same time promptly detect shortcomings and limitations to maintain discipline and order in schools; not the incumbent force or the Department's inspectors.

The Provincial Party Secretary said that the results of education and training do not only "lie" in the scores, but the important thing of the education and training product is the awareness, methods and determination in the work of each Nghe An person when they grow up; therefore, the industry needs to strive to ensure honesty in the educational environment in general and in exams in particular; build an environment: honest teachers, honest students and honest managers; promote the qualities of teachers and students of Nghe An "put self-respect first", if it is good, say it is good, if it is not good, say it is not good, the educational environment is the standard of society.

“Scores in studying and taking exams are a standard for students to strive for, practice and classify students, and we should not let social factors influence the scores, making them arbitrary or embellished, leading to negativity and dishonesty in the educational environment,” the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.

The Secretary also hopes that the Department of Education and Training needs to build a united, cohesive, and highly determined bloc, and besides renewing thinking and awareness, it is important to renew the way of doing things to create innovation and a strong breakthrough for education and training in the province in the coming time.
