Each kindergarten class can accommodate a maximum of 35 children.
(Baonghean) - According to Decision No. 14/2008/QD-BGDĐT on the Regulations for Preschools, the maximum number of children allowed in each age group is clearly stated as follows: 15 children/class for children aged 3-12 months; 20 children for the 13-24 month age group; and 25 children/class for children aged 25-36 months.
The regulations for kindergarten classes also stipulate that there should be no more than 25 children aged 3-4 years old per class, similarly 30 children aged 4-5 years old, and 35 children aged 5-6 years old. The regulations also specify that if the number of children in each group or class is less than 50% of the maximum number, they may be organized into combined groups or combined kindergarten classes.
When a preschool group or class includes a child with a disability in an inclusive education setting, the class size is reduced by five children. Each preschool group or class may not have more than two children with the same type of disability. Each preschool group or class must have the required number of teachers as stipulated by current regulations. If a group or class has two or more teachers, one teacher must be the primary supervisor.
In addition, schools and kindergartens may have additional groups of children or preschool classes (called branch schools) in different locations to make it more convenient for children to attend school. Each branch school will be managed by a vice principal or a teacher in charge of a class; each school or kindergarten may have no more than 7 branch schools.
Schools and kindergartens must ensure that children undergo health checks twice a year. Children's growth charts should be monitored: children under 24 months old should be weighed once a month; children over 24 months old should be weighed once a quarter.
