Every year, Nghe An creates new jobs for more than 37,000 workers.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the report of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, on average, in the period of 2013 - 2017, each year the whole province created new jobs for 37,187 people.

Specifically, in 2013, the whole province created jobs for 36,300 people, in 2014 it was 36,686 people, in 2015 it was 37,500 people, in 2016 it was 37,860 people, in 2017 it was 37,590 people. Most of them were labor export workers, in 2017 alone, Nghe An sent 13,810 workers to work abroad for a limited period, concentrated in markets such as Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, etc.
This result has made an important and positive contribution to the implementation of the province's target program of sustainable job creation and poverty reduction. On average, in the period 2013 - 2017, the average unemployment rate in urban areas was 3.09% and in rural areas was 0.87%.

However, according to the assessment, the rate of employed workers still does not meet the requirements, there are still tens of thousands of unemployed and underemployed workers, including many workers who have graduated from universities, colleges, and trained workers... In addition, the labor level is low, not meeting the requirements of the market. The sense of responsibility, industrial working style, and the ability to adapt to the environment as well as working conditions with modern technology of workers are still limited.
It is known that as of June 30, 2018, the working-age labor force in the province was more than 1.8 million people, accounting for 59.85% of the population.
The Project on Employment for Workers in Nghe An Province for the period 2015 - 2020 sets the goal: By 2020, the whole province will create jobs for about 223,350 workers.
Thereby, maximizing the potential, advantages and promoting the strengths of labor resources in localities in the province for socio-economic development; overcoming the waste of labor resources, creating income sources, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving living standards, reducing unemployment rate and strengthening security and social order in the province.
At the same time, it contributes to shifting the province's labor structure, reducing the proportion of labor in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors from 62.8% currently to 49% in 2020; increasing labor in the industry and construction sector from 13.6% to 23%, in the service and trade sector from 23.6% to 28%; raising the proportion of trained laborers in the province to 61% in 2020./.
