Every day more than 6,000 soldiers of the Russian radio engineering corps are on combat duty.
In 2020, Russian military personnel detected about 2,900 combat aircraft and 1,100 reconnaissance aircraft approaching Russian borders, according to data compiled by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

During the past year, units of the Air Force's radio engineering force -Russian Spacedetected and escorted more than 1 million foreign aircraft. Every day, more than 6,000 soldiers of the radio engineering corps are on combat duty.
They participate in inspections by the on-duty force, support target tracking, and develop operational plans when detecting strange aircraft that may violate national borders and airspace.
The pandemic can't stop it
"Despite the restrictions associated with the pandemic, in 2020, radio engineering units and specialized units of the Aerospace Forces conducted more than 100 drills performing special tactical exercises," the Ministry of Defense added.
About one-third of these exercises were conducted at the Ashuluk, Telemba and Pemboy training grounds.
