(Baonghean.vn) - During the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the number of passengers passing through Vinh International Airport increased compared to the same period last year.

According to Vinh International Airport, there are an average of 34 takeoffs and landings per day during the holiday. The number of flights does not increase, but all flights are fully booked, reaching 100% of passengers, an increase of 7% compared to normal days and an increase of 13% compared to last year's holiday. The peak period from April 30 to May 1, 2018 is expected to have nearly 11,000 passengers.
The increased flights are mainly concentrated on domestic routes Vinh - Ho Chi Minh, Vinh - Hanoi, Vinh - Da Lat, Vinh - Nha Trang, Vinh - Buon Ma Thuot, Vinh - Da Nang... and vice versa. Of which, the Vinh - Saigon and vice versa route is the most crowded and busiest.

Mr. Phan Dang Bao Quang - Chief of Office of Vinh International Airport said: To improve service quality, prevent traffic jams and overload, Vinh Airport has deployed a series of solutions to arrange, organize, and streamline traffic reasonably and conveniently for passengers to pick up and drop off in the port area; strengthen inspection and supervision of runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas.
In addition, proactively coordinate with units operating at the airport to develop a plan to guide customers in the check-in procedures to best serve people's travel needs.
The number of passengers passing through the port in the first four months of this year increased slightly compared to 2017 (653,401 passengers) but the number of flights decreased. If in the first four months of 2017 there were 2,279 take-offs and landings, in 2018 there were 2,163 flights, a decrease of 5%./.
