Through the national immunization information management software, each vaccinated individual will have a unique identification number (ID number) to track their vaccination history throughout their lifetime.

The software (launched in late 2015) will manage each vaccination recipient, including information about each individual's vaccination history, location, time, and the name of the staff member in charge of the vaccination. The goal is to statistically analyze, verify information, and review vaccination recipients, ensuring no one is missed and guaranteeing children receive all necessary vaccinations on schedule.

Accordingly, vaccination staff will have a better understanding of children's vaccination schedules, including which vaccines they have received, when they were vaccinated, and where. Importantly, the software will also allow parents to track and access their children's vaccination information...

According to a representative from the Department of Preventive Medicine, this software is currently being piloted in Bac Ninh province. Healthcare workers in charge of vaccinations in the province have been trained and are using the software to create lists of eligible individuals for vaccination and manage them through an internet-based application system.

Currently, the initial pilot phase has shown promising results and high applicability, aligning with practical requirements in community-based immunization management.

Professor Nguyen Thanh Long, Deputy Minister of Health, believes that this will help people look up information and understand their own and their children's vaccination schedules, thereby proactively getting vaccinated fully and on time. In addition, the software helps healthcare workers in charge of vaccinations manage the target groups through appointment schedules and vaccination history of individuals in the management list.

The "National Immunization Information Management System" software is continuously being improved to be more accessible and to process information more efficiently. The Ministry of Health will then deploy this software at all immunization sites in all 63 provinces nationwide.
