Drink some vinegar, lemonade, or eat sour fruits:These acids can help neutralize some of the alcohol in wine.
Eating mung beans or drinking mung bean hull water: mung beans are a food that is very effective at breaking down toxins. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, mung beans nourish vital energy, cool the liver, and detoxify the body.
While drinking alcohol
Besides appetizers, your drinking table should include some foods that help detoxify alcohol, such as: white radish, white cabbage, celery, citrus fruits, strawberries, lemons, and dishes made from mung beans (like the filling of sticky rice cakes)... You shouldn't just drink without eating; you need to eat along with the aforementioned dishes.
After drinking alcohol
You can serve yourself, or if you're too drunk, ask a family member to help by applying some of these simple measures:
- Take a handful of celery, wash it thoroughly, crush it, and squeeze out the juice. Mix with a little sugar and drink slowly. Celery juice not only helps to sober up but also prevents headaches and dizziness after waking up.
- Take 100-200g of dong leaves (used for wrapping banh chung), wash them thoroughly, crush them, and squeeze out the juice. Mix the juice with sugar and drink.
- 5g of tea leaves, 16g of dried kumquats (or kumquat jam or fresh kumquats), chopped. Steep both in boiling water and drink.
- Mix a glass of kudzu powder with lemon juice and drink it; you'll feel more alert after a while. Kudzu also helps the liver in eliminating toxins.
- Crush some white radish, squeeze out the juice, add a little sugar, and drink it in several portions.
- Consume products made from mung beans (about 10-30g), or crush 5-10g of mung beans with the hulls on, mix with sugar and drink.
- Mix 60g of vinegar, 15g of sugar, and 3 slices of crushed ginger together, then drink the mixture.
- Squeeze the juice from one fresh lemon and drink it, or slice it thinly and eat the whole fruit; the better.
- 30g of dried tangerine peel (the older the better), can be roasted until fragrant; 2 sour plums, add to about 300ml of water, simmer over low heat for 20-30 minutes, then drink. Adding a little ginger water or ginger tea is even better.
The above measures only partially mitigate the harmful effects of alcohol. The most important thing is that you need to learn self-control and avoid drinking too much.
