Surprise birthday gift for Putin
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi traveled to Sochi to attend Russian President Vladimir Putin's birthday and gave his close friend a large embroidered blanket, Corriere della Sera newspaper reported on October 8.
The bedding company that made the gift also confirmed this information to RIA Novosti, saying that it took about 6 hours to embroider the duvet cover.

On the duvet cover is an image of the two leaders Berlusconi and Putin shaking hands, behind which are famous landscapes of the two countries such as St. Basil's Cathedral and the Roman Colosseum.
Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrated his 65th birthday on October 7. He and the former Italian Prime Minister have had a long and close relationship. The two often met during state and private visits.
In late September 2015, Mr. Berlusconi traveled to Crimea, a few months before he met Mr. Putin in the Altai Mountains, where the Russian leader was vacationing.
