"Hopefully, many poor child patients will receive help."
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 7, 2012, the opening ceremony of the Charitable Clinic for poor children with congenital heart disease took place at Hanoi Medical University Hospital.
The opening ceremony was attended by many famous faces from various fields. And of course, the event was also attended by children, especially many underprivileged child patients who had undergone heart surgery through long-standing charitable programs.
The entire audience was deeply moved by the noble hearts of the medical team towards poor child patients, as shown in the documentary about the process of finding funding, the fortunate encounter with doctors, and the difficulties after surgery of Nguyen Anh Quoc, from Nghia Dan, Nghe An.
Nguyen Anh Quoc, along with his mother and uncle, shared their story and gratitude at the opening ceremony of the charitable clinic.
It was a very heartbreaking situation and an extremely special case. The father had to travel far to work and earn money to support the whole family, while the mother loved her son but could do nothing because treating his heart condition was extremely expensive. Quoc was very ill, and everything seemed hopeless; even his family and relatives had... taken his picture for a memorial! Fortunately, Quoc received dedicated help from a Vietnamese expatriate in the Czech Republic named Vu Thi Thu, who sponsored the entire cost of his surgery. Thanks to that charitable heart and the noble medical ethics of the doctors and nurses, Quoc received timely treatment, and his health has stabilized and improved significantly.
In the documentary, there's a very funny scene: Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, who directly performed the surgery and examined the patient afterward, cheerfully "competed" with Quoc and jokingly said, "I'm doing great, I lost to Quoc!" At the end of the documentary, the father held up the old family photo and said to everyone, "It's truly like my whole family has come back to life, not just Quoc..."
The entire cost of training foreign experts and the direct contributions of many benefactors have facilitated the establishment of this meaningful and humanitarian clinic.
At the ceremony, Quoc, along with his mother and uncle, were invited to interact with the audience. Quoc's mother wept as she recounted their family's circumstances and the kindness shown to them by everyone. The auditorium erupted in applause when Quoc's mother said, "I hope that many more children with congenital heart disease will receive help and successful treatment like my son Quoc..."
The opening ceremony clearly demonstrated noble hearts towards children, especially poor child patients.
