The House of Representatives passed a bill by a 67-50 vote that would allow teachers and school staff to carry weapons.

Additionally, the minimum age to purchase a firearm has been raised from 18 to 21. Finally, there is a three-day waiting period when purchasing a firearm to deter those who intend to use it in a fit of rage or illness.

The deaths of 17 people by a gunman at a Florida school in February have sparked a new public storm in the US over the issue of gun restrictions.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Al.com news portal, another shooting occurred at Huffman High School in Birmingham (Alabama), one person was killed and two others were injured.
