Doctor Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, said on the morning of January 28 that patient Li Zichao is currently conscious, breathing on his own, eating and drinking normally. Throat swabs and PCR tests were negative for nCoV virus three times, and he may be discharged soon.

The father, Li Ding, 66 years old, is now conscious, can eat and sleep, and is breathing oxygen through a machine, with an SpO2 index of 96%. The patient's fever stopped at 6:00 p.m. on January 25, and his liver and kidney functions are normal. Mr. Li Ding and his wife arrived in Hanoi from Wuhan City (where the nCoV pneumonia outbreak began) on January 13. The father and son went to Binh Chanh District Hospital for examination, were advised to go to Cho Ray Hospital and were quickly isolated for treatment.

Test results from the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that two people were positive for the nCoV virus, the first cases recorded in Vietnam. The wife who accompanied them did not have the disease.
