A ward People's Committee official died next to a gun

Pushing open the door of the ward captain's office in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City, everyone was shocked to see him dead, with a rifle next to him.

On the morning of October 12, an officer from Ward 3 People's Committee (District 11) entered the room of Mr. Le Thanh Vu (40 years old, ward captain) to contact work and discovered that he was dead, with a rifle next to him.

Authorities are cordoning off and examining the scene. Mr. Vu’s relatives said they have not seen any unusual signs of him recently.

The leader of District 11 People's Committee confirmed that Mr. Vu had died but refused to comment because "the incident is not clear".

VnExpress sources said that signs at the scene showed that Mr. Vu likely committed suicide with a gun.

The incident is being investigated by the authorities.
