A family was forced to transfer 260 million from the 'emergency child' drama
Authorities are investigating a case where a parent was tricked into transferring money after a phone call saying 'the child is in emergency care'.
Previously, on March 13, the Buoi Ward Police, Tay Ho District received a report from the family of Mr. V. (born in 1975, in Cau Giay District, Hanoi) that on the morning of the same day, he received a phone call informing him that his son had an accident and was being treated at the hospital.

Police issued a warning to the public
The subjects repeatedly called to pressure him, demanding that he transfer money for hospital fees to treat his child. Mr. V. and his wife transferred 260 million VND to the subjects. When they arrived at the hospital, the couple met the doctor to ask for information and only then did they learn that the family wasCheat.
Tay Ho District Police warn that at this time, many people impersonate schools or hospitals to inform students that they have had accidents and are in emergency care, and ask for urgent money transfers to save their children. This scam has appeared in Hanoi and many provinces and cities across the country.
Accordingly, the subjects often take advantage of the anxious and confused psychology of parents to ask them to quickly send money to pay hospital fees for the doctor to perform surgery. The subjects even use very sophisticated tricks such as emergency sounds, impersonating doctors to describe the critical condition, affecting the psychology of parents.
Hanoi City Police recommends that people be vigilant against the above tricks. When receiving a call from a hospital or school informing them that a relative or student has had an accident and is being treated at the hospital, people need to calmly verify and absolutely not transfer money to the subject immediately.
People also need to contact the school to verify accurate information and report to the nearest police station for support and help to avoid being taken advantage of and having their property stolen by bad guys.
