(Baonghean.vn) -People in Hat village, Chau Binh commune (Quy Chau, Nghe An) feel sorry for Le Thi Van (Thai ethnic, Quy Chau district Ethnic Minority High School) who passed the entrance exams to 2 universities and colleges but did not enroll because she was too poor.

To achieve such academic results, Van had to overcome many difficulties, constantly striving for 12 years of study, in extremely difficult family conditions. When Van was in 6th grade, her ungrateful father abandoned her and her mother to follow another woman. Losing the pillar of the family, Van's mother had to remarry. After two years of being together, Luong Van Tieu (Van's stepfather) had an accident, breaking his collarbone and spinal cord, completely losing his ability to work. Seeing the difficult situation, after finishing 9th grade, although Van had a high score in the entrance exam to the district's Ethnic Minority High School, she had to drop out of school to follow the villagers into the forest to pick bamboo shoots and collect firewood to sell to earn money to help her family.

On September 7, 2009, Nghe An Electronic Newspaper published an article"Please help Van go to school."Mr. Tran Van Khanh - an overseas Vietnamese in the Federal Republic of Germany - sponsored Van for 3 years of school (grades 10, 11, 12). Thanks to that, Van was able to continue going to school.

Le Thi Van (Thai ethnic group, in Hat village, Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau, Nghe An) passed the entrance exams to 2 universities and colleges, but her family's circumstances were too difficult to enroll.

Understanding the hardships of her parents and the support of the community, Van tried hard to study, and her results in 3 years of study were quite high. In the recent college entrance exam (2012-2013), in group C, Van passed the entrance exam to the Faculty of Primary Education, Vinh University, and Van passed the entrance exam to the Primary Education major of Nghe An Pedagogical College.

Knowing that her family was in difficulty, after the exam, Van went to work as a maid for the villagers, cut firewood and picked bamboo shoots to sell, saving money to apply for admission. But after saving for so long, she only had more than 1 million VND, and could not plan for anything. Ms. Luong Thi Nhung (Van's mother) was in tears: "Hearing the news that my child passed the university entrance exam, I was very happy. But thinking about the 4 years of studying in Vinh city, my heart was really in turmoil. The day of her admission was approaching, and there was nothing in the house to sell, but I could not bear to tell her to drop out of school, I felt so sorry for her!".Asked Van, she choked up: "I wish to become a teacher to help poor children in my hometown learn to read and write! But I don't know if it can be done or not?".

After 12 years of overcoming all difficulties and challenges, Van has tried hard to pass the entrance exams to two universities and colleges today, but with her current family situation, Van's dream of entering the lecture hall still seems very difficult!

Le Thi Van can only become a teacher for her people and her poor countryside if everyone joins hands to help!
