A student from a mountain village became the second-highest scoring student at Hanoi Medical University.

(Baonghean.vn)- With the achievement of being accepted into two universities with high scores in the recent university and college entrance exams (runner-up at Hanoi Medical University and Hanoi University of Pharmacy), Nguyen Viet Nam - a student from Dang Thuc Hua High School, Thanh Chuong district - is considered the student with the highest total score for being accepted into two universities in the province.

With a total score of 29 points for each school, including 10 in Math, 8.75 in Biology, and 10 in Chemistry for the Medical University; and 9.75 in Math, 10 in Chemistry, and 9.25 in Physics for the Pharmaceutical University, Nguyen Viet Nam's achievement caused a stir in the mountain village and at the school named after Dang Thuc Hua.

Born into a poor farming family in Thanh Khe commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nguyen Viet Nam persevered through hardship and excelled in his studies, achieving the title of "Excellent Student" for 12 consecutive years and "All-round Excellent Student" for 3 consecutive years at Dang Thuc Hua High School. In the 2012-2013 provincial-level student excellence competition, he was the only candidate to achieve the top score in Physics, and won second prize in Chemistry and third prize in Mathematics nationwide.
