A district in Nghe An builds 52 new '67 ships'

(Baonghean.vn) - Many seafood exploitation shipbuilding facilities in Quynh Luu are focusing on human resources to urgently complete 5 more ships built according to Decree 67; expected to be launched before Lunar New Year.

Starting from September 2017, the shipyard in An Hoa commune (Quynh Luu) has started to build 4 ships, including 1 ship under Decree 67 of the Government, the rest under Decision 87 of the Provincial People's Committee. After more than 2 months of focusing on building ships, all 4 ships are urgently completing the ship's hold, expected to be completed before Tet.

At the same time, in the district there are many large shipbuilding facilities such as Xinh Viet, Ngo Thuy... also constructing ships.

Up to now, the whole district has 41 ships built under Decree 67 that have been launched and exploited seafood; the remaining establishments are continuing to build 11 more Decree 67 ships; it is expected that before the Lunar New Year, 5 ships will be launched by fishermen Ho Ba Son, Cao Xuan Lien, Le Van Xang (Tien Thuy commune) and Pham Van Can, Ho Van Manh (Quynh Nghia commune), thereby increasing the total number of Decree 67 ships in the whole district to 46.

On average, each ship, once completed and put into operation, will be worth from 7 to 10 billion VND.

With a large fleet of ships and large machines effectively going offshore for fishing, as of November 23, 2017, the total output of exploitation and aquaculture of the whole district was 64,293 tons, reaching 90.03%; of which exploitation was 55,095 tons, reaching 89.89% of the plan; aquaculture was 9,198 tons, reaching 90.86% of the plan.
