A worker from Nghe An province was shot dead in Angola.

(Baonghean.vn) - While on his way to work in Camama, Luanda (Angola), Mr. Tuan was unexpectedly shot dead on the spot by a group of armed robbers.

On the morning of June 10th, the People's Committee of Dien Thai commune, Dien Chau district, announced that Pham Van Tuan (born in 1982, residing in Hamlet 1, Dien Thai commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province) was shot dead by a group of robbers in Angola.

According to information from the family and the Vietnamese community in Angola, the incident occurred at 7:30 AM on June 8th, when Mr. Tuan was on his way to work in Camama-Luanda (Angola) and was suddenly shot dead by a group of armed robbers.

His body is currently being held at the Camama morgue, awaiting repatriation to his hometown due to a lack of funds. According to those who worked with Tuan in Angola, he was a very gentle, diligent, and hardworking man who never quarreled or had conflicts with anyone. Since arriving there, he did not associate with the locals and did not possess any valuable possessions that would attract the attention of robbers.

Speaking to us, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Thai commune, said: "Mr. Tuan's family is in very difficult circumstances, so he had to follow a friend to Angola to work for two years, while his wife went to the South to work as a factory worker. The couple has a 6-year-old child who is being raised by his paternal grandparents."

Currently, the Vietnamese community and the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola are appealing to kind-hearted people both domestically and internationally to donate and support the effort to bring his body back home as soon as possible.
